**Download the app to see how the Premier League table would look without VAR (video assisted referee) decisions this season!** Be creative and change (flip) the rules of football to see the adjusted results and virtual premier league table.
Football is more fun with Flip the Rules!
Flip the rules enables you to change the most important events of the match (goals, var decisions, penalties) and analyse your teams’ performance when the rules are flipped!
Available for all devices, free to download and no ads!
The rule changes themselves are many and varied depending on the sport being analysed but all of them, either singularly or in combination, directly impact the outcome of the game(s) being analysed. For example, here is a list of the current rule changes implemented for football (soccer):
Rule change
Explanation
No VAR
Game results are adjusted to reflect only goals awarded by the referee original decision
No Penalties
Results are adjusted to reflect the outcome of if penalties are all scored, or all ignored
No Offside
Goals scored from offside positions are allowed
No goalkeepers
Every shot on target scores
Snakes and ladders
If a team beats a team above them in the league, they swap places and points with them
Nil - nil draw, no points
Neither team is awarded any points for a nil-nil draw
No draws, 2 points
For matches level on goals scored, the winner is determined from the most shots on target, if shots on target are equal then the team with the most shots in total is adjudged the winner. The winner being awarded 2 points
No draws, 3 points
As above. The winner being awarded 3 points
Win, 2 points
Two points awarded for a win instead of 3, apologies to Jimmy Hill who was one of the main advocates of 3 points for a win
Win by 1 goal, 2 points
Winning by a margin of 1 goal is awarded 2 points
Win by 3 or more goals, 4 points
Winning by a margin of 3 or more goals is awarded 4 points
Away win bonus, additional 1 point
An away win is awarded a bonus point in addition to whatever other points may be added
We show "what if" premier league tables where you choose the rules. The league table is redrawn as rules are selected or de-selected (in other words, flipped)
Previous seasons and/or particular match days may be selected from dropdown lists to show the table at that point in time.
Charts show a selected team's performance over match days against the teams closest to them based on the rules selected.
The results tab shows match results giving a more detailed breakdown of a team's form, together with winning or losing streaks.
The App enables users to analyse their team’s performance in many different ways including:
